THEME: Divine Instrument. II.
MEMORY VERSE:
“But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.”
Acts 9:15.
TODAY’S TEXT:
Romans 9:21-23.
“Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory.”
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
In the last part of this series, we saw that divine instruments are men and women God used at one point in time. And that God chooses His instruments, He equipped them, He guides them to perform His pleasure and guard them against fiery and fiercely attacks from the enemies.
However, God uses His instruments as He pleases. He has the sole right to use anyone, Pharaoh, Ai (a small town), Nebuchadnezzar, Amalekites, Philistines and many others were used by God to chastised the erring Israelites. While Moses, Joshua, David, Nehemiah and many more were used positively.
Meanwhile, in our memory verse, God affirmatively declared that, Paul is a chosen vessel, to bear the name of Jesus before Gentiles, kings and people of Israel. Just as the Potter has power over the clay to make a vessel of honour and that of dishonour.
Conclusively, a question is asked from our today’s text, _What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known?_ By enduring with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory. Which vessel are you? Vessel of Wrath or vessel of Mercy? May God use you for His pleasure and glory in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you.
Till He returns or call you home, do remain in the power of His love.
*Jesus is coming very soon.*
Be prepared.
DAILY CONFESSION:
I am a vessel of God’s Mercy and honour.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, you have the power to decide every man’s fate in life. Please Lord, make me a vessel of your mercy and of honour in Jesus name. Amen.
Yours in Christ,
B. J. Folorunsho.
