Your Tongue And You. III.

MEMORY VERSE:
“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”
James 3:6.

TODAY’S TEXT:
James 3:7-8.
“For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we discussed about the tongue been so little, and just like the little wheel that is used in controlling Ship at sea, it has the capability to move the whole body forward or backward, lift it up or pull it down to total destruction.
However, uncontrollable tongue speaks of self, it boast of personal achievement, it utter words of destruction and make heart weary. And it is worth noting that anyone that boast is categorized into the class of workers of iniquities.
Meanwhile, our today’s text revealed the difficulty of taming the tongue, for it is greater and cannot be compared to the difficulty of taming the wild beast of any sort.
In conclusion, our memory verse declared that our tongue is a fire with the capability to defile the whole body and send it to hell. A pointer to the fact that, if care is not taking, the tongue can ignite great fire of death to the careless life, leading to hell and destruction. May you not be careless in Jesus name. Amen.

My tongue will build up lives. For my tongue will not send me to hell.

PRAYER POINT:
Gracious Father, help me not to be careless with my tongue. Oh Lord, give me grace to build lives around me with my little tongue in Jesus name. Amen.
