THE NARROW WAY DAILY DIGEST.

THEME: The Good Shepherd. II.
MEMORY VERSE:
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
Psalms 23:2.
TODAY’S TEXT:
1 Kings 19:5-6.
“And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.”
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we open this series with an assurance of God’s grace, love, care, support, blessings and provision which is readily available to the sheep of His fold. And that His sheep are ever happy and never in want of anything good.
Meanwhile, in our memory verse, the psalmist expressly testify thus: _”He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”_ What a good shepherd we have!
Moreover, our today’s text simplifies it by giving us the picture of a good shepherd tending His sheep as in the case of Elijah resting under tree, away from Jezebel’s trouble, the scorching hot sun and a windy weather.
However, the good shepherd did not only gave him rest, He supplied him food to strengthen his resting body.
Furthermore, the good shepherd in His magnanimous generosity is still calling for more sheep out of the outer cold and gloomy world, into His warm, secure and glorious side. So, let as many people that are without hear and answer His gentle call.
Summarily, the scripture says in Psalms 127:2b *”For so he giveth his beloved sleep.”* * The Lord is passionate and considerate, He will not overburden His sheep, rather He will feed you and give you rest from all your troubles here on earth and in eternity. May your soul receive rest now in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you. *Jesus is coming very soon.* Be prepared.
DAILY CONFESSION:
The Lord will give me rest and the food that is convenient for me.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, good and gracious God. Please shield me from all evil and grant me rest from all troubles of life in Jesus name. Amen.
