THEME: The Good Shepherd. I.
MEMORY VERSE:
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalms 23:1.
TODAY’S TEXT:
Isaiah 61:5-6.
“And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.”
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
In this new series, we want to consider who a shepherd is, what are qualities of a good shepherd, what a sheep stand to gain from a good shepherd and who is qualified to be called a good shepherd.
Who is a shepherd? A shepherd is a person, who tends sheep. We can also say, a shepherd is someone who watches over, who looks after, or who guides somebody.
Meanwhile, our memory verse expressly stated that, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Do know that, to all that trust in God and have Him as their personal Lord and saviour, shall not be in want.
Moreso, our today’s text affirms the desire of God, for His beloved ones saying: _”ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.”_ This calls to mind, the great privilege of abundance supply available to you and me in Christ Jesus; who is the good shepherd.
Furthermore, when you are on the Lord side, you are at a great advantage, you have all the forces of nature and heavenlies working for your good.
In conclusion, the man and woman who surrenders to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, becomes a sheep of His fold and will or must enjoy the fullness of God’s grace, blessings and glory, through Jesus: the good shepherd. As you remain, a sheep of His fold, may you not lack anything good in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you. *Jesus is coming very soon.* Be prepared.
DAILY CONFESSION:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, help me to be obedient to you always and remain your sheep at all times. May I not be cut off from you and
may I not lack anything good in Jesus name. Amen.
