Resist The Devil.
MEMORY VERSE:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7.
TODAY’S TEXT:
Matthew 4:10-11.
“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
In the Christian theology, Devil is an evil spirit or a fallen angel, expelled from heaven for rebellion against God. He is the chief of the fallen angels, the adamant enemy and tempter of the human race. Humanly, we say, a very wicked person, a great evil.
Meanwhile, the devil is in the business of enticement, bringing up temptations or issues against you and I. Mostly, Satan use what we desire or want to incites us to evil. Satan makes sin to look interesting, alluring and harmless to a carefree Christian. The more reason the scripture says: *Abstain from all appearance of evil.* 1 Thessalonians 5:22.
Furthermore, the book of Matthew 4:1-11 present us the various temptations, the Devil gave Jesus, in order to derail Him. And just like Jesus, we must counter his efforts with adequate knowledge of the word of God. You must keep him far away from your vicinity, hence he will want to dominate you.
In conclusion, Proverbs 11:5 admonish us thus: *”The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.”* Do know that, the battle of your life is between God and Satan. And when you resist the devil, it shall be counted for as righteousness and God will order your step accordingly. When you yield your life to God, he takes charge and reigns in you. May you receive grace to resist the devil at all times in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you.
Till He returns or call you home, do remain in the power of His love.
*Jesus is coming very soon.*
Be prepared.
DAILY CONFESSION:
I receive grace to resist the devil. I will not be a slave to sin and Satan.
PRAYER POINT:
Gracious and Almighty Father, in You alone is my destiny and life fulfilled. Help me Lord, to always resist the devil’s temptations and wiles against my life in Jesus name. Amen.
Yours in Christ,
B. J. Folorunsho.
