THEME:
Divine Help: Genuine Lovers.
MEMORY VERSE:
“And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.”
1 Samuel 18:1.
TODAY’S TEXT:
Genesis 29:20, 27.
“And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her. Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.”
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
A profound and caring attraction towards someone is called love. Genuine love is to cherish, support and care for another person unalloyed, the kind that asked for nothing in return.
Meanwhile, genuine lovers are those that naturally cherish you, not because of what you have, what you can do for them, what you have done or what is in your possession.
More so, our today’s text present Jacob’s genuine and undying love for Rachel in the service of Laban for fourteen years, all because of his real love for her.
Furthermore, Jonathan genuinely care and cherish David’s achievement and personality, even when King Saul saw David as a potential adversary to Jonathan’s ascension to the throne of Israel. Jonathan sincerely love David as his own soul. And he was ready to die for him.
Finally, the Bible writes of the first genuine lover of yours and my soul by saying: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) The kind of love that is true, veritable, authentic and unadulterated. Pure and sincere love is from above, and is not bought but endowed through divine help. May you meet with your genuine lovers today in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you.
Till He returns or call you home, do remain in the power of His love.
*Jesus is coming very soon.*
Be prepared.
