THEME: Almsgiving And Rewards.

MEMORY VERSE:
“And charged them that they should not make him known.”
Matthew 12:16.

TODAY’S TEXT:
Matthew 6:1-3.
“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
Many a times, when we don’t examine our day to day activities in the light of the word of God, we tend to discover later, why our labour or efforts resulted in futility.
Meanwhile, while making it known, we receive commendations and human applause for a job well-done accompany with awards, trophies and countless titles from all angles of life. Although, all these boost societal status and recognition, but it accounts for little or nothing in eternity. And if one leaves the earth without holiness, all earthly efforts lost.
Furthermore, our today’s text sounds a warning that we should take heed, that our alms giving should not attracts public scenery but must be done in private.
In conclusion, let’s observe the injunction of our Lord Jesus Christ to us this day; *”Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.”* Beloved, the glory of men, is incomparable to the glory of God. Wait for God’s glory and you will rejoice doing so. May God bless you more and more as you give in love in Jesus name. Amen.

By His grace, I will be a giver. A strong pillar in the house of my God.

Father, make me a generous giver. And as I give Lord, let my focus remain on you now and always in Jesus name. Amen.
