THE ANOINTED BACKSLIDER. VI.

THE NARROW WAY DAILY DIGEST.

DATE: Saturday, February 16, 2019.

THEME: THE ANOINTED BACKSLIDER. VI.

MEMORY VERSE:
“And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.”
Matthew 27:5.

TODAY’S TEXT:
Matthew 26:14-16. “Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we considered Zedekiah, a national prophet of his time, who was beclouded with the king’s dainties and goodies. He failed to note, the departure of the spirit of God, and to use a much obedient and available young Micaiah. (1 Kings 22:23-25) That is, it is possible, for one to be acting in the old anointing without noticing.
Meanwhile, today we want to look at an anointed Apostle that Backslided, all because of money. Of the truth, money is good, but certainly the scripture says in 1 Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Nevertheless, our today’s text show us, how Judas Iscariot thought of swindling the Jewish authority. He asked them, What will you give me, and I will deliver him to you? With the mind of showing Jesus to them, and leave, believing that Jesus will slip away from their hand, as it happens before. (John 8:59, Luke 4:30) But, it was not so.
Finally beloved in Christ, Jesus allowed himself to be taken away. And Judas heard of it, he returned the money, but instead of asking the God, for mercy, he committed suicide and end his life shamefully. May you and I not end shamefully in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you. Jesus is coming very soon. Be prepared.

DAILY CONFESSION:
I will not allow money or past successes to blindfold me.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, the giver of life. Help me to continue to cherish the life you gave me. In your mercy, may I not end shamefully in Jesus name. Amen
