THEME: Oh Lord, For Thy Mercies’ Sake.
MEMORY VERSE:
“Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.”
Psalms 6:4.
TODAY’S TEXT:
1 Timothy 1:12-14.
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.”
TODAY’S MESSAGE:
According to Wiktionary definition, Mercy is the act of relenting; forbearance to cause or allow harm to another. It is forgiveness or compassion, especially toward those less fortunate. It is a tendency towards forgiveness, pity, or compassion.
Meanwhile, mercy is a free gift from God. And it is meant to be one of God’s children many virtues. A blessing to whoever you give it to, something to be thankful for, when you receive it, because not everybody give it. The more reason brother Paul says, *”I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, Who hath enabled me…a blasphemer, a persecutor, but obtained I mercy.”*
However, every sin committed, brings about condemnation and qualifies one for death before God. For the scripture declared in Romans 6:23 saying; _”For the wages of sin is death…”_ This condemnation is upheld by Satan, the accuser of the brethren before God, in order that all may perish through sin. Even after salvation, many a times, we find ourselves in besetting sins, to which the accuser immediately report so as to lose our salvation in Christ. Beloved, just like David, when we realized our sinful state, it is expected of us to cry out to God saying, _”Oh Lord, not for your justice, but for your mercy sake.”_
Finally, another scripture declared the divine principle that says, *”Mercy prevailed over judgement.”* Nevertheless, God’s wrath is calmed when mercy speaks. Sin brings about damnation, justice brings about judgement, while mercy brings about redemption. May the Lord remember mercy concerning your case in Jesus name. Amen.
God bless you.
Till He returns or call you home, do remain in the power of His love.
*Jesus is coming very soon.*
Be prepared.
