Wine Is A Mocker. II.

THE NARROW WAY DAILY DIGEST.

DATE: Saturday, June 8, 2019.

THEME: Wine Is A Mocker. II.

MEMORY VERSE:
“Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.”
Proverbs 23:33.

TODAY’S TEXT:
Proverbs 23:29-32.
“Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we considered a drunk, as a man or woman who is not wise. We also established the reasons while a king should not drink wine. It is, so as not to forget the law and pervert judgement, that the strong drink is to him,who is ready to perish and for those with heavy hearts.
Nevertheless, our today’s text clearly described who a drunk is and states some negative effects of wine, it says; *”Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?* However, the following are the characteristics of a drunk: They are woes, sorrow, contention, blabbing, wounds without cause, redness of eyes and so on.
Furthermore, our text further give answer to the question raised earlier saying; it is, _They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine._ As an unbeliever, if you say your Bible permit you to drink, do you tarry or mixed all kinds of wine? If yes, beware so as not to perish in no time with wine.
More so, the scripture says: “Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. *At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.”* The truth of the matter is that, wine bite like a serpent and sting like an adder. Invariably, it passes poison into your system and reduce your life span.
Conclusively, a true child of God, will not indulge in alcoholic drinks. Knowing full well that, when you are intoxicated with wine, it distort your vision, and makes perverse utterance to flow from your heart through your month. Most importantly, it can land you into trouble. May you and I not enter into trouble in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you. *Jesus is coming very soon.* Be prepared.

DAILY CONFESSION:
I will not be filled with wine. But with the Holy Ghost and power.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, with wine in me, I will be mocked. Fill me Lord, with Holy Ghost and power and I will not be mocked in Jesus name. Amen.

Wine Is A Mocker. I.

THE NARROW WAY DAILY DIGEST.

DATE: Friday, June 7, 2019.

THEME: Wine Is A Mocker. I.

MEMORY VERSE:
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.”
Proverbs 20:1.

TODAY’S TEXT:
Proverbs 31:4-6.
“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
To start with, today message may not be for a genuine believer, but can serves as a tool of counsel for those that are involved in alcoholic escapades. Meanwhile, what is wine? The Cambridge Advance Learner’s Dictionary, described wine thus: Wine is an alcoholic drink which is usually made from grapes, but can also be made from other fruits or flowers. It is made by fermenting the fruit with water and sugar.
However, the world all over, wine is use for celebration: be it for wedding, house warming, naming and the likes. Nevertheless, our today’s text present us a worthwhile counsel given to King Lemuel by her mother on wine, saying that, kings should abstain from wine, in order not to forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. And she further advice that the king should rather give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish and so on.
Furthermore, memory verse expressly confirmed that, _”Wine is a mocker and whosoever is deceived by it is not wise.”_ The truth is that, when you see a drunk, you need no one to tell you that, wine is a mocker and a drink cherish by the fool.
In conclusion, beloved in Christ Jesus, one may say I will drink moderately, but do you think, it will be easy to stop, once started? Think wisely, a word is enough for the wise. May I not be enticed by the smell and colour of the wine in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you. *Jesus is coming very soon.* Be prepared.

DAILY CONFESSION:
I will not be fooled or mocked by wine.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, help me not to give in to pressure to go into wine. May I remain focus on the power of the Holy Spirit all the days of my life in Jesus name. Amen.

God Is Good.

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Don’t Be Mocked. IV.

THE NARROW WAY DAILY DIGEST.

THEME: Don’t Be Mocked. IV.

MEMORY VERSE:
“And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.”
Matthew 18:30.

TODAY’S TEXT:
2 Kings 4:1.
“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
In the last part of this series, we considered disobedience and lust to be some of the attributes of mockery. A child of God, who disobeyed God or lust after a strange woman or forbidden items, is exposed to mockery.
Nevertheless, Proverbs 22:7 declared that: “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” To borrow and not able to pay back can result to mockery.
Furthermore, our today’s text present, a case of a wife of a son of prophet, whose husband was owing a creditor before he died. So pathetic that, after his death, the creditor came for the late prophet son’s to be his slaves, in order to pay back the money their father owe.
More so, our memory verse, give a similar scenario of a man, thrown into the prison, all because of his unpaid debts and callousness towards others.
Moreover, oftentimes we are in need of urgent assistance to sort out unforseen or projected expenses and we just have to borrow to meet up. And then, our concerns we be to pay up as promised. Conclusively, If you are to borrow, let it be for something worthwhile and not for pleasure. For those who go borrowing, go sorrowing. Meanwhile, Matthew 5:42 says: “Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.” Beloved, that is the level God wants you and me to operate. May you lend unto nation and not be a borrower in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you. *Jesus is coming very soon.* Be prepared.

DAILY CONFESSION:
I will not be a beggar. I will lend to nations.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please make me a financial pillar in my generation. And in your mercy, may I not come to poverty in Jesus name. Amen.

Don’t Be Mocked. III.

THE NARROW WAY DAILY DIGEST.

DATE: Monday, June 3, 2019.

THEME: Don’t Be Mocked. III.

MEMORY VERSE: “But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.”
Judges 13: 7.

TODAY’S TEXT:
Judges 16:30.
“And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.”

TODAY’S MESSAGE:
In the last part of this series, we observed that wisdom, knowledge and wise counsel helps to live a graceful and joyful life. And that when we say the right thing, at the right time, the righteous rejoice and the wicked are mocked.
Meanwhile, today we will be looking at disobedience and lust as bane of mockery. Our today’s memory verse list out the divine instructions concerning Samson’s destiny. It revealed things that Samson’s mother had to run away from all because of Samson’s future. Further study shows that his mother kept her own part of the bargain, but Samson thought it doesn’t matter anymore.
However, instead of Samson to heed his parents advice, he decided to disobey them by lusting after a strange woman. And Judges 16:13 says;
“And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.” Unknown to Samson that, ‘when you are in the enemies camp, your secret or strength is not save.’ Sadly, Delilah cut off the seven locks, and his strength left him.
In conclusion, Judges 16:23 stated that; “Then the lords of the Philistines…said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.” How sad! Samson was mocked by the people who normally tremble at his name, he became a puppet master, entertaining his enemies. May you not loose your glory in Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you. *Jesus is coming very soon.* Be prepared.

DAILY CONFESSION:
My destiny will not be cut off. And I will not be mocked by the enemies.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to keep to divine instructions. May I not make fool of myself, before my enemies in Jesus name. Amen.
